Mktbox ("Mktbox," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data when you use the Mktbox application and services (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
Account creation is optional. If you choose to sign in, Mktbox supports Sign in with Apple. Depending on your preference, we may receive:
- Your real email address, or
- An Apple Private Relay email address
We do not require or collect passwords. Authentication is handled entirely by Apple.
User-Entered Data
We collect information you voluntarily enter into the Service, including:
- Watchlists and tracked stocks
- Portfolio configurations and preferences
Linked Financial Account Data
If you choose to link a brokerage account through Plaid or Array, we receive and store:
- Holdings and positions
- Transaction history
We do not have access to, collect, or store your brokerage login credentials. Authentication is handled exclusively by Plaid and/or Array. See their privacy policies for details:
Device and Usage Data
We may automatically collect certain information, including:
- Device model and operating system version
- IP address
- App usage and interaction data
- Crash reports and performance data
This data is collected through Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Display your portfolio, holdings, and performance data
- Calculate platform-wide metrics (e.g., total assets tracked) using anonymized and aggregated data
- Send push notifications and service-related communications
- Analyze app usage to improve functionality and user experience
- Diagnose technical issues and fix bugs
3. AI-Generated Content
Mktbox may use artificial intelligence to generate insights, summaries, or research reports. When processing AI-generated content:
- Only anonymized holdings data (such as stock tickers) may be sent to AI providers
- No personally identifiable information is shared with AI services
- No account credentials or personal financial details are transmitted
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties.
We may share limited data with the following service providers solely to operate the Service:
- Firebase (Google) — analytics, crash reporting, and data storage
- Plaid / Array — brokerage account linking and data retrieval
- Apple — authentication via Sign in with Apple
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of Mktbox and its users.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure.
- Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption
- Mktbox does not store sensitive credentials (such as passwords or brokerage logins), so at-rest encryption of such data is not applicable
- We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
6. Push Notifications and Communications
We may send you:
- Push notifications related to your portfolio, market updates, or app features
- Marketing or promotional communications
You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link provided in each email.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of push notifications and marketing communications
- Unlink connected brokerage accounts at any time

8. Children's Privacy
Mktbox is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy when changes are made.
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know — You may request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to Delete — You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale — Mktbox does not sell your personal information. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to do so.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

- Financial information (e.g., holdings, transaction history from linked accounts)
- Internet or electronic network activity (e.g., app usage data, interactions)
